About this fish
Dawkinsia rubrotinctus is an active, hardy barb. Kept in good numbers it's a lively community fish, but small groups can turn nippy toward long-finned tankmates.
Care tips
- Keep a shoal of 6+ to spread out natural nipping behaviour.
- Avoid slow, long-finned tankmates (e.g. bettas, angelfish, guppies).
- Provide open swimming space for this fast, energetic fish.
